The Ohio State Universtiy Women’s Glee Club will present a concert of sacred and secular music at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22. The 75-voice touring Women’s Glee Club is conducted by Dr. Richard Schnipke and accompanied by Casey Cook. Admission is free (a free will offering will be collected). The varied concert program spans from Renaissance music to brand new works for women’s chorus, and includes spirituals, contemporary popular music, and traditional OSU school songs.
The Ohio State University Women’s Glee Club was established in 1903. This ensemble has the distinction of being the first musical organization to appear in concert at the University’s largest performance space, Mershon Auditorium. Membership in the Women’s Glee Club is by audition and represents a wide variety of majors and interests from throughout the university, with singers ranging from freshmen through graduate students.
